The Kitchen Contractor's Complaint

What was the under-appreciated, often-exploited kitchen contractor’s complaint?

“I’m always taken for granite!”

I promise that’s not the only terrible construction joke I’ve got up my sleeve (grins)!

Granite is the oldest igneous rock in the world, sometimes up to 300 million years old. Igneous rocks are formed from cooling lava or magma formed deep underground.

But is granite the best solution for your kitchen worktops?

Granite is definitely one of the best worktop materials available when it comes to durability and looks. It’s expensive and needs to be regularly sealed to maintain it, but it’s well worth paying the extra if you have a high-end kitchen.

However, quartz worktops give granite a run for its money as they are very dense, hard wearing, highly resistant to staining and have a very low water absorption rate.

Then, you’ve also got sintered stone. While natural stones take thousands of years to form, sintered stone can be created in as little as a few hours. As well as being one of the hardest-wearing kitchen worktop options available, sintered stone is also chip and scratch-resistant and is extremely easy to clean.

There are so many options, so with all jokes aside, we’ll help you every step of the way to get the right worktop material for your uses.

I look forward to talking to you,
