In a world dominated by mass-produced goods and digital technologies, the National Guild of Craftsmen and Guild of Master Craftsmen, stands as a beacon of tradition, artistry, and heritage. These esteemed organisations have played a pivotal role in preserving and promoting the rich tradition of craftsmanship.

As an Irishman, I was originally validated in the industry with the National guild of Irish Craftsmen. Irish craftmanship has a long and storied history dating back centuries. It encompasses a wide range of skills and techniques, from woodworking and pottery to textiles and metalwork. These skills have been passed down through generations, fostering a deep sense of cultural identity and pride among the Irish people. However, in the face of modernisation and globalisation, many of these traditional crafts were at risk of fading into obscurity.

The National Guild of Irish Craftsmen emerged as a response to this threat. Its primary mission is to support, nurture, and champion Irish artisans and their crafts. One of its most significant contributions is the preservation of traditional techniques and knowledge. I for one have always been proud and humbled by the skills and traditions of the past that continue to thrive in the present and future. Such skills have a huge place in the building industry, and celebrating this artistry, craftsmanship  and creativity reminds me of the importance of preserving our cultural heritage in an ever-changing world.
